History

In 1947, when Rinus Zaadnoordijk began with a small marina in Uitgeest, he had no idea that his name would be irrevocably linked to such a significant number of large and small types of polyester sailing yachts.

His marina developed quickly and Rinus Zaadnoordijk soon began to build small sailing and fishing boats alongside other activities related to the marina. A strong interest rapidly grew in the boats that he built, especially when his eldest daughters began building polyester boats in the early sixties.

The demand was so great that the yacht building activities quickly outgrew the facilities in Uitgeest. This led to the establishment of a boatyard suitable for the series production of yachts. A good site was found in Heerenveen in 1968 by the side of the wide and deep Heerensloot. Now that Uitgeest was too small, the whole yard moved to Heerenveen. From 1990 (????) C-Yachts rolled out of the yard in Heerenveen.

There are now thousands of Zaadnoordijk boats built, along with the flagship C-Yacht 1250
