Sailing

Short-handed sailing
The design of the C-Yacht 1250i allows easy short-handed sailing. The layout of the cockpit offers a safe and stable position for the sailor at all times. The winches are easy to reach from the helms.and all controls are led to the cockpit.

Fast and comfortable
The C-Yacht 1250i is designed with a special hull form: More shape in the bow section and more volume at the stern. The deep V-form results in a calmer movement of the yacht at sea. It also reduces resistance which in turn will increase cruising comfort on board. Towards the stern, the hull becomes larger. This improves control when sailingoff the wind.

Modern sailplan
The sail plan is designed to maintain both speed and comfort over long cruising distances. The fractional rig is easily trimmed. The combination of the standard Dyform rigging with the 4 lower shrouds makes the mast exceptionally rigid.
The standard A-frame bowsprit can be used for a gennaker or a Code-0 with or without a furling system. We have made several small changes which improve the overall control when sailing. Optional is a cutter stay fitting which will allow a flying cutter sail to be set.

Seldén mast
The standard Seldén rigging is constructed for longer cruising and for heavy weather. The Seldén rig profiles are very rigid fore and aft and use the unique MDS runner tie system. The main sail is handled through a German Main Sheet System leading from a large traveller towards two Anderson ST winches.
The best: UK Sails
Option: the 1250i can be delivered with sails by UK-Sails from their Offshore Cruising range. We can also recommend various different sails to perfectly suit your type of sailing, alternatively you are free to choose your own sailmaker.

Fixed windscreen for perfect protection
The C-Yacht 1250i Centre Cockpit is equipped as standard with a fixed windscreen, offering outstanding protection inside the cockpit, in all conditions. Optionally it can be complemented with a sprayhood and cockpit canopy, all easily removable as soon as the weather improves again.

The Cockpit
All halyards and trimming lines are led to the cockpit, below the fixed screen. A special construction detail ensures no water can get into the cockpit in this area. After sailing, lines can easily be stored in dedicated, self draining line compartments.
Both sides of the cockpit contain a fold-out back rest, perfect for sitting, protected from wind and waves. The sliding washboard can easily be opened and closed and self stow in the cockpit floor. If open, they’ll close automatically, should the yacht ever capsize. Above thhe companionway is space for instruments, speakers or 12V sockets.
Safe construction
The 1250i is built in vinyl ester resin. This material provides a stronger rigidity and major tightness
against water and vapour. Together with NPG gel coat it constitutes the most efficient protection against
osmosis. Rigidity of the hull is additionally reinforced by the combination of the inner with the outer
shell. This is realised by involving the bulkheads and parts of the interior; the inner shell here is
completely laminated to the hull and the bulkheads. Result is an increased suspension stability of both
the water and Diesel tanks, as well as a notably stronger rigidity of the hull. Also, the inner side of
the hull is finished with top coat for additional protection.
As standard, the ship is delivered with white gel coat.

Our newest creation, the 1250i, is currently being tested by various nautical media. Europe’s biggest boating magazine YACHT chose a different approach: An offshore cruise …with lots of wind. And you bet she passed with flying colours! Out at the North Sea, with waves 3 metres high we had 2 ships, 2 editors, 2 photographers, 12.6 measured knots and a 1250i which felt and performed just fine. For now enjoy some impressive pictures taken out there…
